WCP Statement of Faith

All matters and affairs of West Christian Prep shall be consistent with the following beliefs:

1. We believe the Bible is God’s written revelation to humanity. Consequently, the 66 books of the Bible, given to us by the Holy Spirit, constitute the plenary Word of God (equally inspired in all parts) (1 Corinthians 2:7-14; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

2. We believe there is but one living and true God, an infinite, all-knowing Spirit, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence, and eternally existing in three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each equally worthy of worship and obedience (Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:5-7; John 4:24; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30).

3. We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His vicarious, atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25; 1 Corinthians 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); and His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11).

4. We believe regeneration is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit by which the divine nature and divine life are bestowed at salvation (John 3:3-7; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:4). Regeneration is instantaneous and accomplished solely by the power of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God (John 5:24; James 1:18). Consequently, salvation is wholly of God by grace through faith, grounded in the redemption of Jesus Christ and the merit of His shed blood, not in human merit or works (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19).

5. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (Matt 25:41; John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15).

6. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (John 17:21; Galatians 3:28; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28; Ephesians 4:4-6).

7. We believe the Holy Spirit is the supernatural and sovereign Agent of regeneration, baptizing all believers into the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13). The Holy Spirit also indwells, sanctifies, instructs, empowers them for service, and seals them for the day of redemption (Romans 8:13-14; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19-20; Ephesians 1:13, 4:30; 5:18).

8. We believe that God’s design for the gift of sexuality is to be exercised and enjoyed only within the marriage covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:18-24; Exodus 20:14; Mark 10:6-9; 1 Corinthians 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4).

9. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. Together, the two distinct, complementary genders reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27; Mark 10:6 ).
