Join our mission to build strong men of virtue.
Joining the team at West Christian Prep is an honor with responsibility. Christ’s first calling to his students was to “Follow (Him), and (He) will make (them) fishers of men.” There are three distinct ways for us to model this.
The first is to be follow-worthy. The way we set a consistently good example is we must love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind. The second is to teach with intentionality, and we do that with boy-focused pedagogy and curriculum. Finally, we send them to lead and have the courage to help boys reach new heights.
It might seem tough, but there are two things to remember. First, you are not alone. You will be led and discipled by administrators following the same Matthew 4:19 model. Second, the stakes are eternal. Most things you have done will not make an impact like we will at WCP, “…encouraging one another, and all the more as (we) see the Day approaching.”
WCP staff must model what it means to be a strong man of virtue and should demonstrate the following traits:
Holiness: As men, we uphold integrity and moral values in our actions and interactions. We lead by example, demonstrating honesty, fairness, and respect.
Loving: We create a nurturing and supportive environment where our boys feel accepted and valued. We show empathy and encourage them to love their peers.
Wise: We share our knowledge and wisdom with enthusiasm, inspiring our boys to pursue academic excellence and personal growth, empowering confidence.
Self-controlled: We model self-discipline and emotional regulation, managing impulses and reactions effectively and encourage the boys to channel energy toward goals.
Courageous: We step out of our comfort zones and embrace new experiences with courage and resilience, sharing stories of perseverance and bravery.
Faithful: We instill belief and confidence in our boys’ abilities to succeed by fostering a growth mindset, emphasizing dedication and hard work which lead to achievement and fulfillment.
Peacefulness: We model a peaceful environment, valuing conflict resolution and cooperation; modeling and guiding them to communicate and resolve disagreements
